It is the Founder’s belief that all ex-offenders should be given an opportunity to change their lives, become an asset to society and not be stereotyped. Everyone deserves a second chance and the opportunity to learn from past mistakes, which will ultimately reduce recidivism throughout the nation. This is the foundation and heart of Restoration Job, Inc.
Many persons simply have lost their way, some were innocent victims of “The System,” while others were guilty, and have simply been unable to break the negative chain of events in their lives and find their way back to a positive life in mainstream society. Many have made mistakes along the way and may appear hopeless at times. Ms. Mayo further believes that people need direction and guidance to heal, and to achieve their goals at times.Restoration Job is dedicated to helping those ex-offenders get back on track, if that is indeed their heart’s desire.
Mission
The mission of Restoration Job, Inc. is to restore the lives of ex-offenders returning to society, and provide preventative methods to reduce recidivism of ex-offenders, by offering them alternative solutions and a chance at independence and self-sufficiency by "making a positive transition to a new life."
Vision
The vision of Restoration Job, Inc. is to become the nation’s most renowned full-service ex-offender program, assisting ex-offenders nationwide and providing an opportunity for all who desire a significant change to make a “positive transition to a new life.” This would be accomplished, among other things, through hard work, dedication, good choices, promoting positive values, and helping these ex-offenders re-build their self-esteem, while offering job opportunities, educational and vocational training, counseling, and personal and family support to all who desire to make a positive change.
The primary goal of Restoration Job, Inc. is to help prevent ex-offenders from becoming habitual offenders, going in and out of the system like a revolving door. However, the means to this end almost always focuses on a bigger picture that involves the individual themselves and their personal choices, influences, external forces affecting their decision-making, family and parenting issues, community support, cooperation from prison entities and county organizations, and the overall personal growth of participants.
Current Status
Restoration Job is at the ground floor of its vision and preparing to become operational shortly. The Company was incorporated on November 16, 2006. We are currently seeking funding to carry out this very important vision, to solve a very important need and problem within the community, and begin creating immediate jobs in the communities of Atlanta, Georgia and Miami, Florida, restoring lives and offering hope to those ex-offenders that have
a true desire for change, as well as providing a need that is ever-present and never ending. One can never do too much good when lives are being changed.
Future Goals
Restoration Job believes that restoring lives and emphasizing family is the basic building block of society. With this in mind, Restoration Job will work at every level with ex-offenders who sincerely desire to change and are ready to grow and make new choices for their lives. Restoration Job is committed to helping not only the ex-offenders returning to society, but their families and children as well, who are directly affected by their fathers and mothers’ adjustment to a new life in a new world after being institutionalized. Restoration Job is also committed to helping the children and family members of these ex-offenders cope, who may lack the skills or resiliency required to struggle through each day without resorting to their old ways of coping.
